American Academy of Pediatrics report

On August 27, 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) issued a report affirming the medical benefits of elective infant circumcision. This report is a reversal of their previous, neutral position. In the report, they advise that all parents, early in the pregnancy (and even during conception), receive unbiased, factual information that looks at other issues, especially religious, cultural and personal issues. This is to ensure that parents make an informed, personal decision for their child, a decision that does not necessarily include circumcision.
